Very rarely will a picture contain a color it doesn't have, and it's really only noticeable if you look at the same image in another screen with high gamut coverage. At 98%sRGB you pretty much get every color since most all content is in sRGB and it's coverage does extend out in some colors. Black uniformity is fine enough to not bother me as I'm not looking at pure black screens often, and outside of that it's not noticable to me. Do avoid screens with one complete flat color though, its a tad noticable there. Sitting in front of the monitor makes it indistinguishable in terms of color reproduction in most cases. Using pc Monitors recommendations to adjust my monitors colors did a 180° for the color and made it very comprable to standard IPS TVs that I'm used to seeing. This is the PC Monitors review ICC profile to fix that and what i used. This was due to gamma, and is common in this specific model. Like i said it came looking a bit washed. I'm really surprised in the good shape it came in, and there's plenty of foam to protect it on its trip. Everything else from stand to the cables came in perfect condition. And if it's really noticable it falls within replacement. Even if you fear for dealing with dead pixels having 1 or 2 are going to be extremely hard to see. Its basically invisible on both static images and moving ones. Dell will give you a replacement depending on the severity of it. 1440p makes it really hard to detect and even though i know where it's at now i still can't see it unless i get up close and play where's Waldo with the thing. I didn't discover the pixel until i looked for one with an all 1 color screen. It came with the gamma making it looked a bit washed and 1 dead pixel. This one didn't come looking as good as i got it now. Right off the bat I'd like to preface that monitors don't come with good calibration unless it says it does and even then I'm going to recommend you use custom settings. TLDR: This is a 8/10, colors are nice, happy with this, i wish the contrast was at least 1000:1.
I have had this puppy for around a month now and confidently can say I'm fine with using this until either 4k 144hz gets under $600 or new panel tech surpassing lcd is out. I was pleasantly surprised by what arrived however. After reading everything bad with TN and this subs distain over it, i didn't have huge expectations of this monitor.
